About SVGA Reading
Bringing People Together Since 1983
For more than 40 years, the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Association & Friends (Reading) has been a place of friendship, belonging and community.
Founded in 1983, our association was created to bring Vincentians living in Reading together, helping people stay connected to their heritage while building new friendships and supporting one another far from home.
Over the years, we have grown into a welcoming organisation that celebrates our Vincentian roots while embracing the wider Caribbean, Commonwealth and local communities. Whether you're a lifelong Vincentian, have family connections, or simply want to be part of a friendly and inclusive community, you'll always receive a warm welcome.
Our Beginnings
Every community has a story.
Ours began with a simple idea.
That no one should feel alone.
For more than four decades, SVGA Reading has brought people together through cultural celebrations, family events, heritage projects, wellbeing activities and practical community support.
We've celebrated our successes together, supported one another through life's challenges, welcomed new arrivals, preserved our heritage and created opportunities for future generations to remain connected to their Vincentian identity.
Today, that same spirit continues to guide everything we do.
