SVGA 40th Anniversary Independence Ball

SVGA Reading organised a glittering Ball to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Independence for SVG and to raise funds for 5 worthy causes, in line with the association’s charitable objectives.

Proceeds from the event were donated to the Bahamas Hurricane Appeal, Sickle Cell Society UK, and the three Schools for Children with Special Needs in SVG.

The event was over subscribed, and was attended by their Excellencies the High Commissioners for SVG and of the Bahamas, along with 330 guests from many areas of the UK, including Birmingham, Derby, Essex, Huddersfield and Liverpool.  A signed football shirt was donated for the raffle by Jesse Lingard, Manchester United and England striker, whose paternal grandparents originate from SVG.
