Disaster relief – can you help?

As you know the activities at the La Soufriere volcano in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) have become a matter of serious concern.  The Prime Minister has issued an evacuation order for people living around the area of the volcano.  Over 20,000 people have been evacuated, many of them in shelters such as schools, churches, community centres with only basic facilities.  Many homes have been destroyed or badly damaged.

There has been extensive devastation of agricultural crops and livestock, and many of the proud and resourceful people on the island are suffering severe hardship.

Money is needed to buy essential items such as sanitary pads, liners, medication, hand and body wash, face masks, hand sanitisers and food locally to feed the evacuees.

The resources of SVG are very limited and any assistance you can give will be greatly appreciated.
